Has Society Really Gone to The Dogs

by Sara
(Lincoln NE)

I believe that we all, humans and animals have an innate sense of survival. We all react to the way we have been taught to react. If you were to visit my house I promise you that you are in great danger of being kissed to death or a high risk of being tromped on because our special dangerous pits want to sit on your lap.

It saddens me because the public and the media are so caught up on an instance here and there. Well the crisis, the bad, the tragic make the news. But for every tragedy that is noted in the media there are at least ten acts of wonderment that these animals provide on a daily basis and yet they are not noted. Society wants to hear the bad.

Our animals are like our children. Violence, hatred, racism, bigotry, fighting are learned behaviors. Is it not bad enough that we stereotype races, religions, etc., that now we have literally gone to the dogs.
