Pit Bulls for AdoptionIs a pit bull right for you? This pitbull adoption checklist can help you find out! Here are just a few of the healthy, friendly pit bulls
for adoption. Pit bulls bond strongly to their owners. So if
you adopt one, get ready to be adored! Rusty![]() Rusty is a beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier that was rescued from a deplorable situation. For all the abuse he suffered, it doesn't seem to have soured him one bit on humans or other animals. Rusty is AKC registered and his rescuers describe him as an impressive dog that is fine with kids, cats and other dogs. Rusty is available for adoption, but needs a foster until his forever home is found. Rusty is located in California. Transportation is available. If you'd like to show this sweet boy how good life can be, contact Abigail at gahowe09 [at] gmail.com - (408) 384-2372. Seymour and Brusky - Adopted!![]() Seymour (the brindle on the left) and his pal Brusky (on the right) are casualties of the housing crisis. Their owner lost her home and they need to find a new forever family or a foster very soon. Here is what the owner says about them: "And of course pictures do these boys no justice! House trained, WILL NEVER PEE IN HOUSE UNLESS YOU DON'T TAKE THEM OUT, easy to take out for walks. Like I had said, I used to walk my son in his stroller with the two boys leashed up. As soon as I stop they immediately sit. Seymour, the brindle one will give you his paw if you ask for it and overall, VERY LOVING DOGS!" Of course, it would be great if these two could stay together. But, if you can help either one of these boys through adoption, fostering or networking them into a safe place, contact Christine at (714) 471-5088. The dogs are currently in southern California. Nibbles
Nibbles is a courtesy listing from Tempe, Arizona. His previous owner decided he liked his other dogs better and didn't want Nibbles anymore. That's too bad because his caretaker says he is a great dog! "He is very sweet. Very happy when anyone comes in to walk him. He has 2 different colored eyes. One light brown (almost yellow) and the other is dark brown. (Its like the highlights and lowlights of his coat, actually very pretty). He's very good with kids and big dogs. He's low key-laid back. Gives kisses freely. Loves food and treats probably to much." Nibbles is approximately 4 years old. He has a heart murmur, but otherwise appears to be a healthy boy. If you would like more information about adopting him, contact me through this form and I will put you in touch with his caretaker. Lily
Lily is a beautiful 2 year old female pit bull--mostly white with blue markings and a blue patch over one eye. She's been spayed and is up to date on all her shots. Lily has been raised alone and would do best as an only pet or with an experienced owner who knows how to introduce her to other dogs. She loves people and is waiting for the right person to love her back. If interested, contact Sheri at (870) 867-0100 or (870) 356-9474. Her adoption fee is $150 Comet
Is that a great smile or what? This fine fellow is waiting for the right owner! He impressed the experienced professional evaluator who screened him: His responsiveness and on-leash handling show evidence of training before the situation that led to his rescue. Comet will bond with someone who understands and appreciates the pit personality. He wants to be the only pet and will be so happy with a fenced exercise area of adequate size. They say I'm a very pretty girl! I was born in '05 and weigh 45-50 lbs. I like people and was even around a five-year-old when younger. I have to confess, though, that other dogs aren't my thing. I know how to use a doggie door and will need a fenced exercise area of adequate size. More Info: Please call (918-457-7997) or email: info@humanecherokeecounty.org You can fill out an adoption application here. Huckleberry
They tell me I'm a handsome pitbull/lab mix. I think "striking" is more descriptive. And, I hope you think so too. I need a nice fenced area to exercise in so I can keep my lean muscular bod in shape. More Info: Please call (918-457-7997) or email: info@humanecherokeecounty.org You can fill out an adoption application here. Kent
Kent is extra good looking and beautifully marked. He was born in October '08. He is friendly and well socialized. A fenced exercise area of adequate size is required. Kent's brother, sister and mother are all at the same shelter. A discount is available if you adopt one or more of Kent's family along with him. Need to liven up your life? Oliver to the rescue! He's sleek, beautifully marked, friendly and feisty. Neutered upon adoption if not before. Started on crate training. He'll need a fenced exercise area of adequate size. He sure is a cutie!!! He just needs someone fun loving and active, and who may want Oliver to be the only pet in the house. Older kids OK with this playful dog. More Info: Please call (918-457-7997) or email: info@humanecherokeecounty.org You can fill out an adoption application here. Vanna
I am a happy girl born in late spring 2008 and weigh 20 lbs. They are not sure exactly what I am, but I'm small and really get excited about people. I'm lower to the ground like a dachshund. I am cute as a button and am a moderate energy type dog. I've got beautiful cocker-like eyes. I am loving my walks at the shelter and wish I had a home where I could play and show you how sweet I am! I may want to be the only dog - not sure about that one, but I want you to know that I LOVE attention! I love to be petted!! One volunteer commented the other day that he held me and I absolutely loved it and was very sweet. Come visit me and see if I could be a part of your family.
