Pit Bull News Stories

This page is dedicated to pit bull news stories and reader comments about them. There is no doubt that the media plays a critical role in the kind of future bully breed dogs will have. Or perhaps, whether they will even have a future. Knowing what is being reported and who's reporting it, affords those of us who feel called to do so the opportunity to send letters and emails of support to reporters who are getting it right. And, to confront and attempt to educate those who perpetuate myths and disinformation about our dogs.

While not a current news item, this is great story about a heroic pit bull who is shot 3 times while defending his family from an intruder. One particularly interesting thing about this story is that for the newscast version in this video, the fact that "D-Boy" is a pit bull is never mentioned! Compare this video to the electronic print version of the story. Coincidence? Media bias? What do you think? By the way, after this story aired, the family did receive donations sufficient to pay D-boy's veterinary bill in full. Share your thoughts about this story.
