I've done dog rescue for 25 years. I'm careful whenever I bring new dogs in, making sure they meet the others in a safe manner. I have had dog fights I had to break up, but the pits I had were never involved. I do have a rescue friend that had a rescue pitbull of hers whom she had for a while kill 2 of her other dogs, but I wasn't there and don't know the situation and one of the dogs was quite small.

As much as I love them I would not allow one free territory around a cat or a small dog, but that is just my experience. I know another friend who rescued an adult pitbull off the street and she still happily lives with she and her husband and 16 cats. I think they are very loyal and wonderful and I've had many breeds come through here over the years so I feel I know what I'm talking about.

Two of my vets over the years said they would prefer to treat a pitbull than 2 other specific kinds of dogs. I think they make wonderful pets. I think it's sad there are counties that have banned the breed.

My opinion is to neuter Michael Vick and every other person caught fighting a dog or enjoying watching them.
