My red nose pit, Zeus

by Toni
(Houston, Texas, USA)

My Zeus is now 7 years old. I got him from a co-worker's son when I was looking for a big dog--actually I wanted a Rott--since I am a single woman living alone in a big house. I had him bring Zeus over a few times to meet and play with my other dog, a 25 pound Schnauzer terrier mix named Nikki- to see how they would interact together.

The first time Zeus bounded out of his backseat, I was in love!! He has the prettiest really light brown, I guess more hazel colored eyes. And he was huge!!! Even though he was so big, at the time about 75 lbs, I wasn't afraid of him. He was very friendly with me, and after a few shy starts, he and Nikki played like best buddies in the backyard at each visit.

I officially took ownership of him on July 4, 2005- best choice I've ever made. He's my big lovebug. He is extremely protective and possessive of both me and Nikki, but he's just a really big baby with me.

He loves going on long walks and laying on my feet whenever I'm working on something or studying. I absolutely adore him. Now he's about 120 lbs and any and everyone is scared to death of him, but I dont care. He's my Zeus!

Changing his sleeping behavior
by: Anonymous

Gale,
Zeus has recently taken to sleeping downstairs in his kennel each night, for about a week now. This is weird because he has always slept in his bed in my bedroom, next to my bed every night for about 5 years. Why the sudden change? There has been no changes to our environment or my lifestyle. Not sure if I should be worried?
