Owner responsiblity

I believe that Pit bulls are like any other dog, and that people who choose to own a pit bull or any other dog should be willing to be a responsible owner. Instead of punishing the dog for what man has done, how about putting the responsibility on the owner?

Proper training, neutering or spaying, socialization, and restricted anti- tethering along with leash laws should be made clear and enforced. If you are going to own a dog that could hurt someone you should be willing to put the time into obedience training and canine good citizen training. I feel you would weed out irresponsible owners that way.

I do understand that sometimes even though we do our best to protect our dog and those around them. situations do occur. That is why it's so important to do our best to stop the ones that never should have happened because of irresponsibility. Just my opinion.
